Parents & Parenting
Are you a parent or guardian working hard to meet the demands of your child’s learning and homework needs during distance learning? Are you looking for new strategies that really help?
Parenting is challenging, and especially so when circumstances - or our child - don’t match our expectation or our experience of what we think learning should look like. One of the biggest challenges of my life was to realize that my daughter was not exactly like me. She didn’t read like me, she didn’t learn like me, she didn’t do homework like me. I had to learn to think flexibly about what she - not what I - needed in order to do her best learning.
Our work together will examine the structures in your home and your life to develop practical strategies you can apply to facilitate the space, the time, and the materials necessary to help your child accomplish their learning tasks. Through a series of conversations and by using your feedback about what strategies have helped and what still needs attention, together we will design routines and systems for your family’s needs and circumstance.
